I hope there’s more to the story, and I certainly hope this little girl is still alive, but from the available details it seems pretty clear: She’s not and Mom’s responsible.
1. Casey Anthony, the mother of missing two-year-old, Caylee Anthony, didn’t report her daughter’s disappearance until more than a month after she went missing.
2. She admitted to being a habitual liar, initially lied to police about her child’s whereabouts, and has since been arrested for obstructing a criminal investigation, making false official statements, and child neglect.
3. Though she and her daughter lived with her parents, Casey Anthony somehow managed to evade the subject of Caylee’s disappearance for an entire month by claiming the girl was at amusement parks, the beach, and with her “nanny” who, turns out, doesn’t exist. The address Anthony cited as that of the alleged babysitter led police to an apartment that had been vacant for five months.
4. Casey also told her parents she was an event planner at a theme park, but again, this turned out not to be the case. Reportedly she has been unemployed since April.
5. The most damning of all this evidence, albeit mostly circumstantial, is that both investigators and a cadaver-sniffing German Shepherd recognized the smell of decomposition and human remains in Casey’s car and yard. A neighbor reports that Anthony borrowed a shovel and was digging around her parents’ yard around the time her daughter went missing.
What I don’t understand in all of this is how Casey has managed to pull the wool over Grandma’s eyes. How is Cindy Anthony still so supportive of her daughter in the face of such seemingly telltale evidence against her? She appeared on The Today Show and said that her daughter knows who has the child and that she should be released so she can aid the investigation.
Thing is, Casey first wants immunity for any future charges in return for her cooperation. Seems to me that a caring mother who has crucial information about her missing child would just instinctively want to cooperate and offer all details she could. That doesn’t seem to be the case here.
Clearly there is much more to the story than has been revealed, and I shouldn’t cast judgment before all the facts are in. But you’ve got to admit that it didn’t look good from day one, when a supposedly loving mother failed to report her child missing for five long, pivotal weeks.

It’s pathetic how Cindy Anthony evades every question pertaining to her daughter’s involvement in this case. I’m getting tired of hearing her trying to tell us how upset she is over her granddaughter being missing, yet not willing to get to the truth !!!

Keep in mind that Casey Anthony’s attorney, Jose Baez, has a lot to do with what you are seeing and hearing through the press (like offering full cooperation in exchange for full immunity)
At some point, it may be in the best interest of Caylee for the Anthony family to retain an attorney committed to finding her (in whatever condition she may be in). Neither Caylee’s safety nor the truth (you know, the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth) are the central focus of the criminal justice system.
Jose Baez is protecting Casey Anthony’s best interests legally. He was not hired to find Caylee. He is a criminal defense attorney, and he is bound to zealously defend his client (obviously, the client has some control over how this is done — and there are certain decisions that the client has to make which the attorney is supposed to accept). Remembering that he is a criminal defense attorney makes the request for full immunity in exchange for full cooperation slightly less offensive — it’s not that uncommon.
Meanwhile, the police, whose resources are tremendously limited, are dealing with the information in front of them (and they’re doing this within a process that is designed to protect the defendant — not the victim or the truth) If anyone knows this, it should be the Anthony family — Caylee’s grandfather is, according to some reports, a retired sheriff’s deputy.
Something is absolutely off in this case, and hopefully this is a situation where things aren’t at all what they seem

Rl, I agree with your point about zealously representing a client. However, she is capable of telling him that she will fully cooperate in exchange for nothing. Seems to me that she knows the child is not alive and that is why she is in no big hurry to help.
I also agree that something is awry with this case. The more the granny opens her mouth, the more I see a cover-up. Between the attorney asking for immunity, the grandma coming up with sudden “tips” after the statement about decomposition was mentioned in court, and all the lies this girl has told, something is way off base.

Granny is a liar. Caylee was not spotted in the Atlanta airport, we all know that. She does spend all her time telling us how distraught she is, and how she hasn’t slept in 10 days, oh yah, and I don’t eat either, I just drink water. So please don’t ask me any questions that might stress me out, because I don’t really want you all to find my grandaughter Caylee. She needs thrown in jail!

Christine, I agree. She is as guilty of diverting the investigation as her daughter is. They all need to be on prozac…or suited with a straight jacket, not an ankle bracelet per the judges bail order.

If Casey knows WHO has Caylee….then put her in a police car and have her take them to lil Caylee!!
IMO this is just another “story” like the cadavar dogs got a hit on the car and it is from rotten pizza? I live in a rural area and if there is a dead animal around YOU know it….it is a terrible smell.
This whole story is crazy. IMO the grandmother and the mother know what happen to Caylee!!
Let mom rot in jail!!
Also what kind of grandmother lets her grand child go missing for a month?
Maybe she should be in jail too?

Hopefully enough attention given to this story will somehow shed some light on Caylee’s disappearance.

Prosecutors have now offered Anthony partial immunity, in exchange for her admission that Caylee Anthony died as a result of an accident. The deal is set to expire in 24 hours.

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — Eyewitness News was informed Thursday morning by bounty hunter Leonard Padilla that he’s beginning the process of having Casey Anthony’s $500,000 bond revoked after details emerged that suggest missing 3-year-old Caylee Anthony is dead. Padilla said he’s working to determine the process and hopes to begin it Thursday afternoon or Friday.
DNA TEST RESULTS SUGGEST CAYLEE IS DEAD
Orange County detectives were expected to meet with the State Attorney’s Office to discuss new evidence in the Caylee Anthony case. A source close to the investigation confirmed for Eyewitness News, that FBI test results show hair and a stain in the trunk of Casey Anthony’s car belong to her daughter, 3-year-old Caylee Anthony. Eyewitness News was also told the evidence found proves that she is dead.
**How sad!! Casey needs to tell where Caylee is so the beautiful lil girl can be laid to rest, not dumped like trash!!
Casey needs to rot in jail!!

This family sure is odd or is that sick?
Casey gets lost for over a month, misplaces her 2 year old daughter, lies, steals, smiles, waves, parties, borrows a shovel to do weeding, carries a dead body around in her trunk and refuses to say what she did to Caylee and where she is. THEN has time to toss on a “Have you seen me” t-shirt with Caylee’s pic on it before she is lead away in handcuffs?
Gramma has no clue where Casey and Caylee were for over a month(but can find Casey in a blink of an eye when they pick up her car from the impound lot), finds Casey’s car and says that it smells like a dead body was in it, washes pants that smell like the car, says the cadavar dogs were wrong, says the phone records are wrong, says nanny must have her since that is what Casey said, says that Caylee is alive and well, even when DNA says she is dead and was in the trunk of mommy’s car? Cant get straight the last time she actully saw Caylee. Says if there was a dead body in mommy’s trunk, someone put it there. She goes on to say Casey cant tell where Caylee is because the family will be in danger?
Grampa says that the kidnappers that have Caylee are being watched? Freaks out at people out in the yard. Finds stolen gas can(where is other can?) in trunk of Casey’s car, looks for an assistant and spokesman for the family?
I’m sure i have left out a bunch of things here, but Casey looks as guilty as they come and they all look like they are hiding something!

Padilla then said in the upcoming weeks, the country will see some revelations in the case.
“When the FBI, who has got some of the finest labs in the world, comes back (with findings), it is going to shock the world over something Lee, Casey and Cindy have known since Wednesday when they released their preliminary findings,” Padilla said. “And also, the Dumpster located a mile and quarter away from the boyfriend Tony’s home is going to play a big part in this.
**I can only imagine what they are going to tell us! If Casey, Cindy and Lee(maybe this is why Lee has not said anything lately) already know this info, how can they continue this game?
September 3, 2008 at 7:36 pm
I wonder what Gramma had to say when they mentioned the chloroform(in the trunk and researched on Casey’s computer?) When they said that the hair found in the trunk was from a decomposing body she said…someone put a body in there and
“We need to start looking for a little girl that’s walking and living and breathing and someone actually has her,” Cindy Anthony said.
Can anyone just go out and get chloroform?

Here we go again:
ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — Eyewitness News has learned Casey Anthony will be bonded out of jail Friday morning. Two bond agencies, Macdonald Bail Bonds out of Kissimmee and Joe Von Waldner Bail Bonds out of Orlando, are working together to post the $500,000 bond.
The agencies each put up $250,000. At this time, no details are available as to why the two agencies decided to post the bond. Casey Anthony will be on home confinement and monitoring when she is released.
**Oh i hope someone watches Casey good. Will all the new evidence floating around i believe she will either disappear(with the help of her parents) or try to kill herself.
Why would these people want to help her?
September 14, 2008 at 1:18 pm
Casey, you need to grow up! You are acting like a spoiled child! It is fact you were the last person to see lil Caylee and with the facts out there, it is obvious that you have harmed Caylee and dropped her off like trash.
Proud of yourself Casey? How long will this go on? You running the show!
Cindy, you need to grow up also! Out there waving your hammer around, yelling and swearing at people. Cindy, these people are sick that your sweet lil Caylee is missing! Strangers, more upset than Caylee’s own family! Sad, so sad!! You dont like hearing Casey called a baby killer? Then you need to get in your daughter’s face and demand to know what happen to Caylee.(IMO You and George and Lee already know what happen and Casey is sitting in that house smiling, knowing she has gotten away with her daughter’s disappearance and probable death so far.)
I hope they have LOTS more info and send Casey away for a long, long time. If Cindy and George and Lee know, then i hope they send them away also.
